

Since 1997, Bertrand Cayrol has been Vice President of T2C2/Bio (Technology, Transfer, Commercialisation, Capital), a venture capital firm located in Montréal, Canada, with a focus on identifying early stage opportunities in universities, research centres and industry. An engineer by training with a degree from the École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Toulouse, France, he also holds a PhD in Chemistry from Montreal's McGill University. Bertrand has taught chemical engineering at the Université de Sherbrooke and has been a consultant for the Lavalin firm in Montreal. In 1987, he joined the National Research Council of Canada's Biotechnology Research Institute, where he was a member of the team responsible for the Institute's technology transfer program. In 1992, he joined Société Innovatech du Grand Montréal as Vice President, Health Sciences, where he was involved in starting numerous companies that went on to become industry leaders.
